Top-notch quality.　　（2005-06-14）
Here’s another outstanding vocabulary learning program that you can add to your collection. The part II of the bestselling Word Smart contains more than 220 top-notch vocabularies that will make you sound VERY, VERY, VERY, intelligent. I said this before and I’ll say it again. Word smart audio CD’s are the best of its kind. No other vocabulary-learning program offers this much quality in a single learning product. The bottom line is, this program works. I’ll guarantee you that a lot of time and research went into this product to bring you the best study guide the world has ever seen. Before I started this program, I was ashamed of my vocabularies. I mean, I used to sound like an uneducated bum, but look at me now. After six months of studying Word Smart Audio series, I am now speaking to some of the smartest people in the world (engineers, architects, doctors, college professors…you name it) and I understand every word they speak. But most importantly, I am able to respond to their words with a sharp, intelligent reply.

Now, on the other hand, since this is Japan and since most people will be buying this audio CD to learn the English language itself from the stand point of ESL, I do not recommend that you buy it unless you are very confident in your English skills. Make no mistake; this program was designed for the natives, so unless your English is at that level, you should stick with something a bit more easier (otherwise you’ll be very disappointed).

SAT,GRE対策の補助教材向き　　（2002-08-04）
まず最初に。この教材は明らかに英検１級前後の力がある上級者向けです。私はWord　Smart、Word Smart2両方とも、本もCDも持っています。Word　Smartは日本では比較的有名ですが、これより使い勝手のよい洋書の語彙本はほかにたくさんあるので、ベストブックとは言い難いです。

本の語彙が全部網羅されているわけではなく、最初は何となく「えー、これだけ？」という気分にさせられました。ただ、ここで収録されている語彙は、SAT,GRE対策のためには１００％覚える必要があるのは間違いなく、他の語彙教材とともに息抜きで使うべきものかと感じました。登場する単語を使ったドラマはのおもしろさはまあまあで、コンセプトが似ている１１００words　you　need　to　knowのカセット版「Word　Play：600　words　you　need　to　know」より音声がいいし説明も歯切れがよいので、とっつきやすいとは思います。
　リスニングが得意な方は?、いっそうのリスニング訓練にいいかもしれません。ただし、スクリプトはありません。

いつから「役に立つ」のか？　　（2001-09-16）
　CD五枚組でこの値段は安いといえばそうかもしれない。しかし、このCDはペーパーバック「WORD SMART �U｣をスクリプトとしたCDではない。つまり、このCDで「WORD SMART　�U」の全てを暗記できるというわけではないのだ！さらに、その英語のスピードたるや、容赦のないナチュラルスピードである。かなりのリスニング力がなければとてもじゃないが太刀打ちできない。「聞き取れないところが自分の知らない単語」というレベルにあって初めて、このCDは力を発するだろう。「このCDで単語を覚える」前にかなりのリスニング力をつけておく必要があるだろう。逆に言えば、このCDが聞き取れれば、かなりの自信になるのではないだろうか。
